[The session commenced with a sacrament of dried salvia divinorum, untinctured, and smoked in moderation.] I'm in a cemetery on a cliff-top where there are creepers and vines spiralling up around me, growing, with the heads of snakes and a strong sense of sentience around them. They move like flames. Even though there are many heads, this is one entity. It's the dragon I saw at the end of the previous aethyr [1]. It says to me: 'AYIN' (the Hebrew letter). And now it shows me another letter that looks like an 'I' [2]. It passes away into the distance and now there is nothingness. ![]() Horus, the falcon-headed. Next I see an acute angle, not quite 90 degrees, and it is intelligent. It tells me it is '68 degrees' [3]. It transforms into a flower, and the head of the flower is open at 68 degrees, and from it a liquid pours. Then the flower passes away too. Now there is something small and squat here that looks like a frog. It stares at me. It's a demon, but is not evil. It tells me about a device that has the number 53 [4] as its nature. The device is Quetzalcoatl [5]. The god is an aircraft of souls that will fit into him and be carried to salvation. The frog-thing passes and another being comes forward – the thing from which Quetzalcoatl was saving the souls. It is a black eagle's head, made of a shiny substance. Its number is 44 and its name is 'KNIGHT' [6]. I see a war, like the current conflict in Gaza. An army attacks a town or city. The walls come down and the army rolls over the buildings, turning them to rubble. This is caused by KNIGHT. Now I am in a chamber with a pillar of light at its centre in the middle of which is a being made of punctuation marks. I see ?, % and ÷. It is formed from any character so long as it has no alphabetical meaning. Its number is 143 [7]. It seems to be a computer virus or a malfunction that affects computers. It's name is perhaps 'The See-saw'. But it also reminds me of a sea-horse from a previous vision and it might be connected with the meaning of that vision [8]. There is something prophetic about it. Mannaz. The letter 'M' appears, which changes into a Martian war machine, a tripod. There are hundreds of them. Their number is 41. Perhaps 'M' is the rune MANNAZ, because it is very angular. The tripods are destroyed by angels that come down from the clouds. The angels have wings, but are using machines to fly that look like galleons made of metal. Their number is 83. Their battle with the tripods is not an earthly war but is fought on a different level [9]. Now I am high up and looking down on a swirling abyss and see all of the aethyrs I've scryed so far. I started in the centre and am working out to the edge. The whole structure is revolving slowly. I enter a trance state and emptiness becomes apparent, then the idea of negative weight because, as one moves to the edge, the weight of the aethyrs becomes negative. I start to wonder whether there are any references to anti-gravity in the writings of Steiner, and find I am unsure whether these are my thoughts or a part of the vision. There are creatures that thrive on this anti-gravity, which enables them to penetrate our reality. I am warned that there will be creatures like this as I proceed nearer to the outer edges. These creatures are the cherubim. It is not a desirable thing for them to enter our reality by feeding off the anti-gravity. [10] Stability lies in Aethyr 30, and as we work outwards the aethyrs become progressively more unstable and subject to negative weight. Aethyr 30 is the heaviest, holding the structure together at the centre. The letter lambda that I saw in my vision of Aethyr 30 represents the concept of Aethyr 30 holding it all together [11]. Now there is a sentient book that talks to its reader from its bottom left-hand corner when it is handled, and its number is 46 [12]. Its name is TARNABAS. It is a book about everything. It says: 'H' and then: 'R'. This is some kind of force that is constantly attacking: HRHRHRHRHRHRHRHRHR. The letters don't necessarily alternate, but there is a constant stream of Hs and Rs. The meaning of this is the Greek letter omicron, and I am also referred back to the dragon. The way in which the dragon connects with omicron is the nature of the HRHRHR thing. It is the negative side-effect of something that is usually good. It is the dragon moving anti-clockwise rather than clockwise [13]. TARNABAS denies he is a cherub, when challenged, and displays his radiance to prove he is a higher being. (Cherubs are not radiant [14].) He shows me a picture of an Egyptian god who holds a post or a flag in his left hand (it looks like a golf-club) as he looks to the right. Maybe he's the jackal; perhaps he's not Anubis himself, but there is a connection with Anubis [15]. After another trance-state the vision ends. Notes[1] In Aethyr 19 (POP) a dragon named ZEN appeared, which is the name of the current aethyr, the 18th. It would seem, then, that the dragon is the presiding spirit of this aethyr. [2] The Hebrew letter AYIN represents an eye. Perhaps the letter that looks like an 'I' is merely a homonym, also pointing to this correspondence. However, AYIN is also the precursor to the Greek letter omicron, or O. In which case our attention may be being drawn to the contrast between the circle, O, and the line, I (Greek: iota, Hebrew: YOD). Proclus: 'The demiurgic Nous has therefore set up these two principles in himself, the straight and the circular, and produced out of himself two monads, the one acting in a circular fashion to perfect all intelligible essences, the other moving in a straight line to bring all perceptible things to birth. Since the soul is intermediate between sensibles and intelligibles, she moves in a circular fashion insofar as she is aligned to intelligible nature, but insofar as she presides over sensibles, exercises her providence in a straight line. So much regarding the similarity of these concepts to the order of being.' From: A Commentary on the First Book of Euclid's Elements. [3] 68 = 'Crossing the Abyss' = 'Holy Chosen One'. Proclus again: 'The angle is a symbol and a likeness, we say, of the coherence that obtains in the realm of divine things - of the orderliness that leads diverse things to unity, divided things to the indivisible and plurality to conjunction and communion.' Ibid. [4] So far, there's nothing in our English Qaballah dictionary that enumerates to 53. ![]() Heru-ur (Horus The Elder). [5] 'Quetzalcoatl' = 45. Also known as 'The Feathered Serpent', an important protective deity venerated by several Mesoamerican cultures. [6] 44 = 'Heru Ra Ha' ['Horus Sun-flesh'] (a name of the god Horus) = 'key of it all' = 'prophet'. Horus typically takes a falcon-headed form (cf. 'eagle' in the vision). Given that the angels who appear later in the vision give their number as '83', the following passage from The Book of Law, where the speaker is Horus himself, takes on an interesting significance: 'I am the warrior Lord of the Forties: the Eighties cower before me, & are abased. I will bring you to victory & joy: I will be at your arms in battle & ye shall delight to slay. Success is your proof; courage is your armour; go on, go on, in my strength; & ye shall turn not back for any!' The Book of the Law III: 46. Who is the true saviour, then? Warlike Horus or protective Quetzalcoatl? Or is it perhaps that they represent the same or a similar principle? Viz. 'Heru Ra Ha' = 44; 'Quetzalcoatl' = 45; and descriptions of another aspect of Horus, 'Heru-ur' (Horus the Elder), are similar in some respects to descriptions of 'The Feathered Serpent' - e.g.: 'He [Heru-ur] was seen as a great falcon with outstretched wings whose right eye was the sun and the left one was the moon' (Wikipedia). [7] So far, there's nothing in our English Qaballah dictionary that enumerates to 143. [8] 'See-saw' = 18 = 'Aiwass'. The sea-horse appeared in part two of The Tempe Working, where it seemed to represent the notion of self-perpetuating initiation. [9] There seems to be an important revelation here. The tripods are not Martian or extraterrestrial, but human. 41 = 'apocalypse' = 'humankind' = 'triangle' [tripod] = 'universe'. The meaning of the rune MANNAZ, which resembles 'M' is humanity, community, mankind, and the connection of the individual self with the species. The angels are not rescuing humanity, therefore, but perhaps warring with a particular portion of humanity. It would seem, however, that Horus is no friend of these angels either ('the Eighties cower before me'). So far there's nothing in our database that enumerates to 83. Horus may represent an ideal seeking to defeat both the materialist forces of the tripods and the idealistic forces of the angels. ![]() Steiner's diagram showing gravitational forces. [10] There is indeed interesting material in Steiner on the theme of gravity. For Steiner, levels of being at the human level and above are characterised by a rising away from the earth. This was discussed in the context of medicine in a lecture given at Dornach on 26th March, 1920. For an angelic being to reverse this process and willingly seek out gravity would indeed seem to be an unusual inversion of this model. On the nature of the cherubim in particular, Maimonides offers the following in his Guide For The Perplexed, Part II: Ch. 6: '[T]he Sages reveal to the aware that the imaginative faculty is also called an angel; and the mind is called a cherub. How beautiful this will appear to the sophisticated mind - and how disturbing to the primitive.' The cherubs, then, are mental forces, but of a relatively lowly kind. Certainly, cherubs are preferable to tripods, but we shouldn't welcome them as our conquering lords and masters! The warning seems to be that as the aethyrs become more ineffable, moving to the outer rim, there is within them a danger of mental formations becoming reified. [11] In that vision lambda was taken as a signifier of unity. Plato, in the Timaeus, describes the primary sequence of numbers that gives life to the universe and the fourth century philosopher Crantor showed how these could be written in a two-armed, lambda-shaped diagram. Lambda was also associated with the geometric ratio known as 'The Golden Section'. See: Kieren Barry, The Greek Qabalah: Alphabetic Mysticism and Numerology in the Ancient World (York Beach, ME: Samuel Weiser, 1999), pp. 74-5. By this route, then, lambda can be said to represent the idea of fundamental numbers holding the universe together in harmony. [12] 46 = 'Hrumachis' (a deity formed – according to some accounts – from the bisexual fusion of Horus and Hathor). ![]() Anubis, the jackal-headed funerary god. [13] Omicron, the circle, represents intellection or understanding (as we saw at the beginning of the vision, for this vision as a whole is in some respects circular). The dragon, ZEN (this aethyr), is like O in that it moves in a circle. HR suggests Horus ('Haru' or 'Har' as it was originally pronounced). The characters appear in a 'stream' (i.e. a line) and are 'constantly attacking', as if – for some reason – seeking to undo the circular structure of the aethyrs and penetrating them in a linear manner. What the meaning and aim of this might be may one day become clear, but having considered these associations I'm not so convinced it is necessarily 'negative'. [14] As Steiner puts it: 'Light is that which continually overcomes gravity.' But as we now know, the cherubs manifest in our world by becoming subject to gravity and so they cannot be radiant. [15] The vision began in a cemetery, and seems to have ended there with these final allusions to Anubis, the Egyptian funerary God. The item that he carries is a flail, a symbol of lordship. |

Interesting stuff as always. I found the last few sections especially worthy of note. My own vision of ZEN has a very short write up, which may be interesting for comparison:
'A line of pyramids, two or three deep and very long. A glowing moon hangs in a dark sky.
'Two puppets are being made to dance in a market place; they are simple things made from old toilet rolls and have funny faces with glasses and moustaches.
'A wave rises out of the ocean and plunges me into another place - the third land. This is before birth, under the 'wave of dissolution'. There is total silence at the centre of the mind. The vision has ended, yet somehow does not end - '
By the way, I am still amazed that our visions of POP both included a strong referece to a different Aethyr.
