Golden light. A lion's head with the astrological sign for Leo. I can see Tempe's seal, which appears against the background of the lion's head. The seal of Tempe turns into a pyramid. Inside the pyramid is a turntable on which a CD is rotating and the space around me is filled with curves like the letter C, like the blades of curved swords, and they're pouring out from the CD [1], into this space inside the pyramid formed by Tempe's seal. ![]() The constellation Leo. 'The sickle' is shown in dark red. There are presences: White Brothers inside the pyramid, spirits like Tempe. The pyramid is a space-craft with the spirits aboard. Inside me, violent feelings arise: sexual impulses and a fear of death. The awareness of being embodied and alive. All this arises in me, but not taking hold. I am being shown these things by the spirits in the pyramid. The feelings are not affecting me, so maybe this is what I'm being shown. The feelings are intense, but it's as if it were information that I'm being shown. Those feelings are the power-source of the pyramid, a kind of 'fusion drive'. The beings inside are focused and still because those impulses are powering the ship [2]. I can see an Egyptian deity with a bird's head. Perhaps it's an Ibis. I wondered if it were Thoth, but there is a strong sense of something warlike. Is it Horus? The god radiates a Martian feeling [3]. It forms the prow of the pyramid as it travels. Now I see the prow travelling through space like a spearhead, bristling with a mass of lethal-looking spines. This deity presides over the front of the pyramid as it pushes through space. ![]() Horus. Falcon-headed. God of war and hunting. Now there is a peacock and water and I'm in another part of the craft, the rear end. There's a feminine presence here: a peacock goddess [4]. She looks familiar and reminds me of a tarot card [5]. An eye is looking at me. It is the eye of the goddess. She is not all love and light but very analytical and scientific. There's a spirit here that we've found before: an angle. It tells me that there are hidden enclaves, people that we haven't connected with yet. They have some important teachings that we haven't yet encountered. Where do we find them? The answer comes back: the symbol of an owl. A building made entirely of arches, like the Colosseum. This is the place where these people are to be found [6]. The space around me on the pyramid is bursting with spirits, including one like an iridescent flat mask, old and African. They are all in the back end of the pyramid, presided over by the peacock goddess. The mask has to do with magick, because it is giving me a pentagram in a circle, but then – oddly – ripping it apart. The pentagram is inside an egg. It is made from an egg, then being ripped apart and the shell scattered [7]. Now I can see bones, thrown on the ground, as if this were some kind of divination system. The bones look strange, ear-shaped [8]. I am given the number 33 [9]. ![]() Juno and the peacock, from the Swiss 1JJ tarot deck. The constellation Leo reappears. It forms a backdrop to the pyramid. The mane of the lion is a nebula in space; it looks like a scene from the film The Fountain. I see the constellation of Leo and the stars form the shape of a sickle. Again: 33 [10]. I try to talk with the angle, who is slightly bigger than 45 degrees but less that 60. He is 57 degrees [11]. I ask if the teachers are in our past or our future. He replies that they are Masters of the Temple. These people are already masters of the temple, but somehow they are also Black Brothers – in a way I don't understand. They are MTs, but don't know it. I see scenes from the latest Harry Potter film, meaning that these people are engaging with magick in a Harry-Potter-like way [12]. Having asked what teachings do they have for us, the answer is again the sickle and Leo. And now the number 8, or an insignia that looks like a B. I experience a strong trance and am then shown Blake's painting of the God with the compass [13]. A suggestion that the angle 57 degrees is the angle of the compass in the painting [14]. This has something to do with how those people have teachings for us [15]. When asked if we will meet them, the answer that is given is firstly erased and I can't remember it. But then it comes back: 49 [16]. The strong feelings return that I had at the beginning. The '49' I am given looks very much like the '49' in the painting of LAM by Crowley [17]. Back to the pyramid, I see Tempe. He is wearing a huge triangular headdress that spills out bright colours and lights. A triangular halo is all around him. The presence of Tempe is very strong. We thank him and the vision ends. Notes[1] In Euphratean astronomy Leo was known as Gisbar-namru-sa-pan. This has been translated by one commentator (Bertin), as the Shining Disc which precedes Bel. ('Bel' is possibly Ursa Major, 'The Great Bear'). So we have a CD (a 'shining disc') which emits curved blades. Leo also contains a sub-constellation often described as 'the sickle' (a curved blade) which is referred to explicitly toward the end of the vision. The traditional characteristics of Leo: confident, ambitious, generous, loyal; pretentious, domineering, melodramatic, vain. 'Leo is very independent but they need something to control and someone to admire them and appreciate them. They are fully capable of being greatly successful on their own but they are much happier if they have an audience and a following of people who look up to them.' Leo is Alan's star-sign. ![]() Urizen, as depicted in Blake's 'The Ancient of Days'. [2] So the sensations are not identified with, but are recognised as empty. All members of the White Brotherhood have succeeded in recognising this. Instead of identifying with their karma, they use it instead to further their aims. [3] Horus is represented with a falcon's head and was indeed a god of war and hunting, a symbol of majesty and power. In Thelema, Horus is the presiding deity of the forthcoming spiritual aeon. He represents the prophetic potential of the individual. [4] The Roman goddess Juno is associated with the peacock, and so too the Hindu goddess Saraswati. In both cases the peacock symbolises the goddess' admonishment that we should focus on truth rather external appearances: 'The Peacock made complaint to Juno that, while the nightingale pleased every ear with his song, he himself no sooner opened his mouth than he became a laughingstock to all who heard him. The Goddess, to console him, said, "But you far excel in beauty and in size. The splendor of the emerald shines in your neck and you unfold a tail gorgeous with painted plumage." "But for what purpose have I," said the bird, "this dumb beauty so long as I am surpassed in song?" "The lot of each," replied Juno, "has been assigned by the will of the Fates - to thee, beauty; to the eagle, strength; to the nightingale, song; to the raven, favourable, and to the crow, unfavourable auguries. These are all contented with the endowments allotted to them" (Aesop's Fables, translated by George Fyler Townsend). In the 'back-end' of Tempe's craft, there is perhaps less equanimity than at the front! [5] In the Swiss 1JJ tarot deck, the High Priestess is depicted as the goddess Juno with a peacock by her side. [6] The owl is sacred to the Roman goddess Minerva, which fits with the idea of a building that looks like the Colosseum. However, the Roman Forum is also a building that included arches, although most of them have now vanished into ruin. If it's the forum that was intended then this might suggest an on-line forum, which is a far more likely home these days for the hidden teachers than the Colosseum! [7] The pentagram represents the microcosm, the five elements – in other words, earthly and sensate reality. [8] I've not been able to trace any specific reference from this. Divination by bones is a widespread method traditional to many regions of the world, including Africa, Asia, and North America. The number and type of bones employed, as well as the inclusion of other small objects, such as pebbles, shells, and hard nuts, varies a great deal. [9] 33 = 'blessing', 'Buddhist', 'conquest', 'dagger', 'Indian', 'order', 'reward'. [10] This seems to be the crux of the message. Darren Aronovsky's film, The Fountain (2006) concerns the theme of surrendering the self to death as a means of enlightenment. In one strand of the film, a space traveller journeys to a nebula that represents (and embodies) the death of every living thing. This part of the vision, therefore, seems to suggest a journey into death (the sickle, the nebula) beyond the arrogance of Leo, where the reward ('33') will be discovered. [11] 57 = 'That is enough', 'initiation'. (And as we know, initiation never ends!) [12] In other words, these people are in many respects novices at magick – and yet they have something important to teach us. [13] Known as 'Urizen' in Blake's mythology, and famously depicted in the painting The Ancient of Days. [14] The angle of Urizen's compass in the painting is actually ninety degrees. [15] Urizen (in the Blakean mythos) is the embodiment of conventional reason and law. His compass is used to create and constrain the universe, within which he ensnares people in webs of law and conventional culture. In other words, the MTs will teach us something valuable but through limited, consensus thinking. [16] 49 = 'destruction', 'dissolution', 'fruition', 'order & value'. Perhaps '49' is erased and then given again in order to demonstrate that the lesson is not easily learnt, or will not be learnt the first time. [17] '49' in this context points to the following passage in Blavatsky's The Voice of the Silence: 'Thou canst not travel on the Path before thou hast become that Path itself'. For details, see Alan's article 'Chinese Whispers: The Origin of LAM'. |

I will interpret this in a way that suits my best interests. I hope it will at least provoke a laugh.
You could begin by reading the post I've made in the DhO forum.
1. The 'forum' part in the vision is explained.
2. Although writing this enumerated list seems fun, I'm basically asking if you would be my meditation teacher for a while, explains the 33.
4. I sent you an email a while back about finding a magick group in Amsterdam (I did go to a new age shop by the way, and found nothing interesting, mostly aromatherapy and ten-step-program crap). My interest in the subject, and your eventual role, could explain 57.
2. My name is Bruno (so it wasn't an '8', but a 'B')
3. I'm a mathematics student currently deep in dark night. Explains the 'dark brother' bit.
4. This was provoked by an LSD trip during which I understood death. This understanding is neither obvious nor banal, though it might sound that way. It corresponds to a specific sensation. Explains the sickle.
5. Leo is about all the generosity and self-confidence you will find in being the teacher of a full-time devoted student, me :-)
6. I've played around with magick in a very childish way, including the discordian opening ritual (“Blessed Apostle Hung Mung , great Sage of Cathay, Balance the Hodge and Podge and grant us equilibrium.'). I'm not sure anything worked, though, it might have. Explains the harry potter thing.
7. Of course, my goal right now is to attain stream entry, but I'd love to meet you personally after my first 49 to get some hands-on magical 57 (sounds dirty, doesn't it?).
Alas, I can't however, imagine how I might be a 'master of the temple,' whatever that means, nor what I might have to teach you (I know how to make a wicked apple pie, though). So, this being all a joke and all, I am still looking for a willing, long-distance, pragmatic, no-bulshit, accomplished teacher.
(I feel a bit like a foolish troll, but I'm still gonna push that 'submit' button... here goes...
Very nice.
To add to the confusion:
Minerva - Athena - Labrys (double-headed axe with curved blades) Zeus' head was split open by Hephaestus with a labrys, freeing Athena.
Ear-Shaped bone: the Ilium bone of the pelvis.
33: number of vertebrae in humans.
Semi-enlightened black brothers naive about harry-potter-like magick - scientists (like in 'Age of enlightenment')?
Building made of arches - great mosque of cordoba? Peter Brueghel's 'Tower of Babel'?
Size of angle - an angle (in a plane) can be projected onto any other angle in 3-d space. Thus, Urizen might be pointing the 57deg. angle towards the viewer, resulting in an apparent 90deg.
Cheers,
Florian
57 and 33 add up to the 90 degrees of Urizen's compass. Perhaps there could be some significance in that for you.
I’m curious if the angle might be a measurement for the pyramid, related to some measurements of the constellation. If I’m reading the sickle as the “front” of the constellation, this would be the “prow” of the pyramid? The sickle could also mimic the beak of a falcon, thus Horus. But also, did you encounter the angle 57 toward the “back” of the pyramid (which would be the base when travelling through space, right?)?
:The Beta star in Leo is “Denebola,” thus B. So you have the sickle-front, the full constellation-Leo, and the tail of the lion-B.'Having asked what teachings do they have for us, the answer is again the sickle and Leo. And now the number 8, or an insignia that looks like a B.”
Maybe that there's 'less equanimity at the back' could be a result of the symbolism of the actual pyramid. The spread out back end seems to suggest a more 'Yin' nature (analytical, spread out, receptive, presided by a goddess) and the front seems to suggest more 'Yang' (focused, apex, aggressive/active). The latest Harry Potter movie deals with love and death in the character's lives... The egg-pentacle being ripped apart; the egg is a symbol of life and the Akasha (spirit) and the pentagram represents the microcosm. Maybe it symbolizes expectations of spirituality being destroyed? It sounds a lot like either enlightenment or Chaos Magick, which fits in with the banner on your wall.
Thank you everyone for your insightful comments! I think Duncan's initial understanding of the vision has only scratched the surface (the 'masters of the temple/black brothers' mentioned appear to have turned up) and your input has certainly shed some light on a number of things we might have missed. Cheers!
